Shashi Murthy, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University. Prof. Murthy joined the Northeastern faculty in August 2005 following a postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital under Mehmet Toner. He earned his PhD in Materials Science & Engineering at MIT in 2003 and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in 1999. Prof. Murthy's group is pursuing interdisciplinary and translational research in the areas of microfluidic isolation of stem and progenitor cells, point-of-care diagnostics, and cell surface phenomena during microfluidic flow.
