Co-Program Leader, Cardiovascular Disease
BACKGROUND
Dr. Tawakol is a graduate of Stanford Medical School. He completed Medical Residency, Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship and Vascular Medicine Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and completed a Nuclear Cardiology Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is currently Co-Director of Cardiac MR-PET-CT at MGH and Co-Director of CIMIT’s Cardiovascular Disease Program. Dr Tawakol’s research focus is in translational and clinical studies using multi-modality imaging techniques, utilizing positron emission tomography (PET) in combination with CT and MR.
