Forum Abstract

This presentation will address the process by which a novel diagnostic technology or application is translated from research into clinical practice within the clinical laboratories, including evaluation of clinical, technical, and financial factors. Several specific tests and technical platforms that have recently been implemented in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Clinical Chemistry and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratories will be used as examples, including tandem mass spectrometry, genetic screening, and molecular subtyping of cancer.
