Dr. Vacanti featured on TV's "Chronicle"
A doctor who has received much CIMIT support was featured on the TV show "Chronicle" on April 5: Dr. Joseph Vacanti, of Massachusetts General Hospital.
He discussed his CIMIT-backed work as it relates to tissue engineering, and credited CIMIT with aiding his team in terms of collaboration, facilitation and financial support.
The doctor-researcher also talked about his hope to develop livers and kidneys made of a patient's own tissue.
Dr. Vacanti was one of several doctors to be interviewed on the show, titled "The Replacements." It focused on how researchers are attempting to provide better patient care for those who need limbs, organs or other body parts.
